Christmas is coming, and with it – lots of new things to watch on Paramount+ in the UK: From blockbusters like Top Gun and The Lost City, to new shows like Blowing LA and George & Tammy – as well as the highly anticipated Yellowstone prequel, 1923 – starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

Paramount+ is an American streaming service that offers content from CBS, Showtime and Paramount Pictures, as well as exclusive, original programmes.

Paramount+ costs £6.99/month or £69.90/year in the UK, with a free 7-day trial available to everyone.

As of this writing, there’s a limited-time Black Friday promotion, where you can get the Paramount+ annual subscription for 50% off.

The standalone Paramount+ app is available on most major streaming devices and Smart TVs sold in the UK, and you can sign up either directly via the Paramount+ app/website, or via Amazon Prime Video Channels.

Prime Video Channels require an Amazon Prime subscription, and you then subscribe to Paramount+ on top of that. You will then be able to watch Paramount+ on any device that supports the Prime Video app, not just those with the Paramount+ app.

More back-catalogue shows and films are sometimes added throughout the month. But for now, here are the highlights for December 2022:

The Flatshare (Season 1)

Full Season (6 episodes) available from December 1.

Recovering from a controlling relationship, Tiffany spends her days earning minimum wage for minimum appreciation on a viral news website, while Leon works nightshifts in a hospice getting life advice from a terminally ill tween as he tries to free his wrongfully jailed brother.

But, as the Post-it Notes start to fly and each gets unexpectedly drawn into the other’s messy, complex life, an attraction evolves backwards.

George & Tammy (Season 1, Weekly)

Episode 1 available from December 5, Then new episodes weekly (6 in total).

Liam Gallagher Knebworth 22 (Documentary)

Available from December 7.

In June 2022, Liam Gallagher defied all expectations and returned to Knebworth, 26 years after Oasis’ historic 1996 shows, performing to 170,000 people across two nights in one of the first major stage shows following the pandemic.

Knebworth 22 is a feature-length documentary that traces Liam back to the site of his former band’s defining performances, including all-new interviews, behind-the-scenes and epic concert footage.

The film also goes a little bit further, seeking out stories and perspectives from collaborators and fans of different generations from around the world, transposing the emotional and social context of the 90s’ shows versus the tumult of our current era.

Additionally, the concert itself, titled Liam Gallagher Live: Knebworth 22 will also be available to stream exclusively on Paramount+ from December 7.

Blowing LA (Season 1)

After more than 30 years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him.
